Source of arts
(Devotion Part-2)

Art is a concept separate from both work and creator, it exists as the source for them both.
Life is a work of art and the outcome of dedication. If you don’t like what you see then, paint over it. Art makes our life simple and devotion assists in embracing artistic notions, heavenly feelings and freedom of expression.
The essence of art is being truthful and letting thoughts run wild in the green meadow of the intellect. The ability of thinking artistically and expressing the element of reality in a culture ultimately provides as a catalyst from which the glorious history of the past can be revealed.

Ancient as well as modern art is the face of producing a community’s shared understanding. The inner confidence and the absolute reliance on Prakruti, Mother Nature has been a springboard to develop taste of art along with constant dedication in every individual. Devotion springs up from this very understanding giving prominence to strong belief and faith.

Art has played a very crucial role in the development of mankind. The origin of art can be seen right from the symbolic art form found on walls of ancient caves, to the prominent use of colours, to now the art form going digital, with the ever surging technology. Art has seemed to blend well with dedication.
Alongside the art forms there have been evolving, changing and transforming folk and tribal art traditions in our country. The price of success is creativity and an unremitting devotion.

Dedication gives us the most full and vivid impression of actual skill that one possesses. One cannot grasp the power of loyalty unless entirely understanding commitment. The language of art and devotion is universal.

It is the mere expression of one’s feeling through art and devotion whose life is turned to the rhythms of nature.  A true art is a reflection of an artist’s life and holds passion and mystery over the long believed parables of life.

Home and Design

Importance of Art in Designing a Home

“Home, the spot of earth supremely blest,
A dearer, sweeter spot than all the rest.”
- Robert Montgomery

The saying above describes so much about a simple abode, a place we all call home. A house isn’t just made up of four walls and a ceiling; it is made up of people and their individuality, their likes and choices of furnishing and décor.

There are many simple ways of turning a plain wall of an apartment or a bungalow into a place that becomes the prime focus of your abode. You could either use wall-paper, textured paint or add a piece of art. Yes, paintings help transform different spaces and have been used as an indispensible part of décor since times immemorial. They not only enhance the look of the area, but also express so much about the people who live there.

Pieces of art are now gaining popularity because of many upcoming artists who create masterpieces that are sold at affordable prices. These paintings are available through art galleries and websites where you have the choice of browsing through the various images and selecting a piece that looks good with the décor you have. You can also first choose the art work and then design the rest of the room according to that theme.

Today with the amount of resources available online, you can also choose the frame you want your masterpiece to be displayed in…Amazing isn’t it? Unlike in the past, a home today is all about using the right ornamentation. It is not about what looks good in another person’s house. Your home is all about you, your sense of decoration, your understanding of the different elements of art. With art, you cannot go wrong, you can only transform your simple abode into one that stands out from the rest and reflects the thoughts, ideas and beliefs of the people who find solace in it!

Devotion is you. Devotion is me. Devotion is us. Art is Devotion

Devotion:
Devotion simply means dedication. Dedication comprises of commitment - an arduous yet burning passion to miraculously achieve what we desire..!
“Devotion” brings to mind God, the Almighty, a spiritual energy with such extreme divinity that one follows his blind faith and surrenders to the Lord.

                                                                (Art by: Samadhan Majare)

Devotion is you. Devotion is me. Devotion is us.

For a child it is purely in studying hard, for a true devotee - in praying, for an artist in immersing himself in the splash of colors, a farmer – in toiling hard, for the warkari sampraday - marching all the way to pandharpur! It is oneness with God! It is apparent manifestation of words, art, music, painting, and the beautiful chirping of birds, a mother’s lullaby, and the serene beauty of nature!
An artist dreams his paintings. He devotes time, energy and paints his dreams on canvas. The nature poises for the painter and with his graceful strokes he paints her serene beauty. Consequently, one can perceive that from Devotion springs up ultimate uniqueness.
Devotion is “bhav” - an expression. Expression is varied states of mind, like happiness or sadness, religious observance or hatred, consistency in pure thoughts, words and deeds. A positive vibe or a negative force all combines to form devotion which finds its way through elegant brush strokes and vibrant colors.
Devotion is “bhakti’’- Optimism, an intangible quality that shows the way towards ‘nirvana’ absolute salvation. Through profound dedication, one can attain self actualization and can observe complete tranquility - outside inasmuch as within. The holy monks from the great Himalayas create an aura of peace and radiance whilst embracing utter devotion.
Devotion is Bhav (Art by: Samadhan Majare)
If we could say it in words there would be no reason to paint! The emotions find their way in paintings and mesmerize us in lively colors that truly placate us with a zealous passion to paint.
Ultimately, adherence to one’s values and morality, consistency in fair behavior towards all, feeling of gratitude and playing with colors sums up DEVOTION!!!
